My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Introducing Bessie, the pint-sized wonder with a heart of gold! This adorable 2 year old, 14 pound chihuahua is a true testament to the resilience and strength of the underdog spirit. Bessie is eagerly awaiting her forever home and is ready to bring endless joy to a lucky family.

Bessie may be small in size, but her personality is larger than life. She was pulled from CVAC Shelter, where she found herself confiscated as part of a hoarding case. But instead of letting her past define her, Bessie chose to rise above it. She has proven time and time again that there is nothing she can't overcome with a wagging tail and a positive attitude.

When Bessie first arrived at Our Underdog Rescue Squad, she was timid and unsure of her surroundings. However, with the love and care of our dedicated team, she has blossomed into a confident and loving companion. Bessie is now ready to find a family who will cherish her and give her the life she deserves.

Despite her difficult start, Bessie has an unwavering spirit and an incredible capacity for love. She is always the first to great you with a wagging tail, a gentle kiss, and a sweet head tuck into whatever nook on your body she can find. Bessie's favorite pastime is cuddling up on your lap, snuggled close to her humans. She craves affection and will happily spend hours curled up in your lap, soaking up all the love she can get.

Bessie is a smart little girl who is eager to please. She is up for any adventure. She would be an excellent walking companion with a bit of training and would be thrilled to accompany her new family on daily outings.

One of the most endearing qualities about Bessie is her ability to bring a smile to anyone's face. Her happy-go-lucky demeanor is infectious, and she has a knack for brightening even the gloomiest of days. Bessie is a shining example of resilience and the power of second chances.

Our Underdog Rescue Squad believes that every dog deserves a loving home, and Bessie is no exception. She is looking for a family who will shower her with affection, provide her with stability, and offer her the forever home she has been dreaming of. Bessie's ideal family would be patient, understanding, and willing to continue her training and socialization. She would thrive in a home where she can be the center of attention and receive all of the love she craves.

If you're looking for a loyal and loving companion, look no further than Bessie. This gal is ready to embark on her next cheaper and shower her new family with endless love and affection. So, why wait? Come meet Bessie today and discover the joy that this underdog can bring to your life. If you are interested in adopting Bessie, please fill out our application here.

Additional adoption info

We do our best to get back to every potential applicant but at times we are only able to get back to the strongest applicant. We are a team of volunteers who work full time jobs and do rescue on the side.

Go meet their pets

Most of our fosters are in the San Bernardino area. Our pups are fostered in private homes so appointments must be set up prior to visiting.

More about this rescue

We are a group of friends with a heart and passion for animals, especially dogs. We are drawn to the ones with the sad stories so that we can rewrite their stories and make them happy.
Each of our dogs will be fully vetted (spay/neuter), vaccines and microchip.
An in person home check is required.
