Stormi is a very sweet but shy gal. She also is a giant goofball! I would say she is almost completely house trained. We have a small accident every now again but is doing very well. She is crate trained while we are away at work. I wouldn’t say she loves to be in there, but we give her a frozen kong and are able to check in on her at a four-hour mark. She currently is fostering with 2 large adult dogs and 3 cats. She absolutely loves food and is food/treat motivated.
Where I do believe she would do okay as a single dog; being around another dog gives her the confidence boost she needs. She has really grown to love my two dogs and is unbothered by cats. She has not been around any children at this point. Upon meeting new people, she does take a bit to open up, but she was the same with us and is now very confident walking around here. Stormi LOVES to play fetch with balls!
Stormi learns and trains well. She is very smart but certainly needs someone who is going to commit to her training. With someone who takes the time with her I believe they would form a very strong bond.
If you are interested in adopting Stormi, click at the link below: http://www.nehoularescue.com/adoption-application.html
Once your application has been received and reviewed, you will be contacted via email or phone by one of our volunteers. After your application is approved, the foster parent for the dog you have selected will contact you to answer any questions you may have and determine if that dog is a good match for your family.
If you have no particular dog in mind, we will be happy to keep your application on file and notify you if the right dog should come into rescue. Catahoula Rescue of New England is an all-volunteer group. Dogs in our program are fostered by volunteers. The foster homes care for our dogs as if they were their own. All dogs have received vaccinations appropriate to age and are spayed or neutered.
Stormi’s adoption donation is $450 which includes Rabies, DHLPP, Bordetella, fecal test, heartworm test, is on preventative, microchip and neuter depending on age at time of adoption. If the dog is too young for a spay/neuter then they will be adopted with a spay/neuter contract and deposit. We do not have a physical shelter; all of our dogs are fostered in individual foster homes across the New England and Canada.
