Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Chance, a sweet 8 year old Yorkie boy being fostered in Weatherford, TX. Only Texas applicants will be considered.
Chance is a sweet 8-year-old Yorkshire Terrier. He was owner surrendered September 6th. UYR has had him fully vaccinated, heartworm tested and he’s on preventative. Chance has some physical challenges, yet despite that, he’s a happy boy. He likes to play with stuffies and chew toys. He’s made himself right at home in his foster home and has claimed his favorite beds to curl up in. Chance is a laid-back kind of guy. He’s up for going outside and sniffing everything or staying in and curling up on your lap. He loves to be talked to and petted. The attention he gets he returns twofold. He aims to please and just be with you.
Sadly, Chance was injured a year back and was not able to get the medical attention needed at that time. His injury affected his right front and hind leg. Through the year, as a puppy, he learned to walk again. However, he is very painful. His front leg is broken at the ankle area and the bone cannot be fixed at this point, so we will remove that bad leg. He will be just as adorable and as precious and be able to move much better without it. Little tripods, as they are lovingly called, just bounce back and their bodies compensate. He has been doing that all this time as it is.
We are using cold laser therapy and acupuncture to help aid and strengthen the back leg as well. We will get good x-rays of that back end, that truly looks like a patella issue as of now, while he is under anesthesia.
This baby is just a constant happy little wiggle butt. He runs and plays as if there is nothing wrong. But upon touch or the wrong placement of the foot, he will cry out. Chance will be such a blessing to those looking to adopt. We will take applications but foster mom will keep you updated on his progress as his leg heals. Please feel free to reach out for anything you might need to know.
