My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi my name is Charlie,
I was rescued with my 5 siblings and mommy in the fall of 2021. I was with a family but they couldn't keep me so this lady from a rescue took me in and worked with me to help me adjust and become a sweet cuddle muffin. I also go by the names Chuck and Charles Bronson Meoooow

More about this rescue

J's Animal Rescue was created November 2013.

We are purely Volunteer and Foster based rescue serving Ottawa and surrounding area.

Our goal is helping to reduce the stray cat population in the city of Ottawa and surrounding area.

We mainly focus on cats and kittens who have been abandoned or neglected and end up in colonies or in someone’s yard. They usually need medical attention and rehabilitation as their life in the wild is not at all as one could imagine. If lucky (for kitty), they get trapped by one of our volunteers. We assess the frightened kitty, vet check, treat as needed and gets sterilized once maturity is reached. The rehabilitation process varies based on age and needs. Once they are ready, our kitties get introduced during our events and at our Partner events.

We are not a charity or non-profit organization, which means we fund our costs out of pocket. We rely on support from local businesses and people who believe in saving animals as well as our Adoption and fundraiser events. Funds we raise help pay our vet costs as well as food, litter and other supplies.
