Here's what the humans have to say about me:
FOSTERED IN: Darien, IL 60561
ESTIMATED DOB: 05/24/2023
COLOR/BREED: Black Shorthair
KIDS: Older
DOGS: Yes
CATS: Yes
HISTORY:
Ferret was found outside all by himself as a little kitten.
ABOUT:
Ferret was found as a tiny kitten, alone, outside. He may not have had a lot of human interaction before being whisked off to the inside life, so he is a little timid in new situations and with new people. Ferret’s foster mom has worked very hard at socializing him and he often chooses to sleep in bed with her, and has even started enjoying being carried around in a sling style purse while his foster mom works around the house.
Ferret will do best in a predictable home with a patient adopter who will give him time to get comfortable and build trust. If you give him a little time you will be rewarded with an amazing little guy who likes to snuggle and receive belly rubs. He will give you tiny little purrs of thanks for your efforts.
Ferret met children once and he was very overwhelmed by their fast movements and loud voices. Teenagers and older would likely be appropriate for him. Ferret does great with other cats and follows their lead to learn new things. He loves to play and roughhouse with them. We previously thought Ferret would need to be adopted into a home with another cat, but as long as his adopter is patient, we feel he would do fine as an only cat. He does spend a good amount of his time playing alone as his foster and the resident cats aren’t always available. Ferret is being fostered with a large breed dog who is very calm and Ferret has warmed up to him and even likes to steal a few bits of his kibble when he isn’t looking. He will do well with any dog who allows him time to acclimate.
