Here's what the humans have to say about me:
PIXIE is a one-year-old female terrier mix who weighs 40 lbs. Our best guess on breed was schnauzer. She's got the look and she's got the coat. And we were right! Her DNA test results are pictured here.
True to the terrier temperament, Pixie proved to be smart, independent and stubborn. And Adopt Me! has just the answer for this young lady - our Paws Behind Bars prison dog training program! For the last month, she's been in the care of an excellent and experienced inmate who's encountered pups such as her before. He's challenging her mind and making it seem like a game! Pixie is responding beautifully. In a short time, she'll be ready to try for her forever home!
She'll have mastered basic obedience and will be crate, leash and house-trained. She'll do best in an adult home (older children are fine) that can offer the proper exercise - physical and mental. Instead of hugs and kisses, her new owner(s) must appreciate her confidence - that's a terrier thing. You have to keep them busy or they'll find a way to keep themselves entertained.
If interested in adopting, our process begins with submission of our online application which can be found at www.adoptmebluegrasspetrescue.com.
Meets will be set with approved applicants. Thank you!
