Here's what the humans have to say about me:
OUR BEAUTIFUL SUNFLOWER IS STILL WAITING FOR A HOME!
WE THOUGHT SHE WOULD BE SNAPPED UP INSTANTLY!
SUNFLOWER IS HERE IN MAINE AND NOTHING IS BETTER THAN A SUNFLOWER IN THE SUMMER!
SHE'S WAITING FOR YOU!
Sunflower is a beautiful girl of about 7-8 yrs that we rescued from the Downey Shelter in CA a few weeks ago after she was placed on the euthanasia list. She is very sweet and just LOVES PEOPLE and attention. She’s a great size, too – just over 60 lbs. Sunflower is medium energy, and is pretty laid back. She is fine with calm dogs, she isn’t interested in playing – she likes to do her own thing, but she doesn’t mind another dog around! She mostly wants to hang with the people - she can get a little jealous of other dogs getting attention. She was a volunteer fave at the shelter, and here too! She LOVES to give kisses, and is one of the sweetest dogs ever! She is very food motivated and will sit for treats, and take them gently.
She will be an easy dog to transition into your home!
If you are a loving home and would like to open your home and heart to one of our dogs, please fill out our online application to get the approval process started. We will not schedule meet and greets without an approved app on file. Here’s the link: www.miraclegsdmaine.org
PLEASE NOTE that we will call your vet to ensure all current and prior dogs have been kept up to date on rabies and distemper at a minimum as well as annual heartworm test and a minimum of 6 mos heartworm preventative purchased per year. Any current pets must be spayed/neutered.

Fees will vary....but average adoption fee will be about $350-$400 for an adult dog, which will be spay/neutered, UTD on all vacs and HW prevent.
We will require the application on our website to be filled out, and will do a complete check, including veterinary history and home visit (if they pass our approval process). Application must be approved prior to any meet & greet being scheduled. Contracts will include clauses regarding the mandatory care for the dog, as well as clauses requiring the dog to be returned to the rescue if for any reason they are unable to keep it.
