My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Coming soon in Spartanburg, SC-Meet Apollo! An extremely handsome, 3 year old Aussie mix. He weighed just over 30 lbs when he came into rescue and was skin and bones, but has now crossed the 40 lb mark and is looking and feeling healthier every day.

Apollo is extremely friendly with people and other dogs and loves to play. When he came into rescue, Apollo hadn’t been neutered yet so he was…friendly with female dogs. Since being neutered on 9/5, this behavior seems to be drastically calming down.

Apollo is in the early stages of being socialized with cats, but he’s extremely excitable around them. A home without cats would be best.

Apollo is a smart guy and is learning basic commands quickly! He’s also being crate trained and is doing extremely well with it.
Apollo is a jumper and is working on this behavior with his foster. He loves people and craves love and attention in return, and is ready to let you know when he needs love and attention by pawing or gently placing his mouth on his human.

Apollo is a tall, long dog, so when he’s excited and pawing at his human, he can be a little rougher than he intends to be. His foster is working with him to discourage the rougher pawing and to encourage gentler ways of asking for attention. Due to these behaviors, though, the best home for Apollo would be one without small children. While Apollo doesn’t seem to have an aggressive bone in his body – he is 100% sweetness – his excitability and size could make him be too much for little ones.

If Apollo sounds perfect for you, please fill out an application: https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application

There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to his new family. All adoption fees are used for futur rescue efforts.
