Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Rick! He is part of the 80’s musicians litter (Steve (Perry), Rick (Springfield), and Joan (Jett)) to the 4 PAWS family! He came to us after being surrendered to a local Animal Control. Rick is a 13-week-old Lab mix. He is being crate trained, loves other dogs, does well with cats, and does very well with children. Here is what their foster has to say about him:
Rick is affectionate, sweet, and goofy. He plays well with his litter mates and is curious about the cat but other than sniffing him, he doesn't pay much attention to Sebastian. Rick gets in trouble more than his siblings because he has ALL the "qualities" that come with a puppy; be it chewing, nipping, or putting EVERYTHING in his mouth. He's smart and learns quickly, but he also continues to test how far he can go with anything and everything. Gotta be careful for this dog to not outsmart us! Usually, his nipping at the clothes happens when he tries to receive attention from us; but if we push him off of us with a sharp "no!" and then ignore him, the behavior will stop. He is a bit on the jealous side; he can be at the other end of the yard, but as soon as one of his siblings receives attention, he will come running, jumping, and pushing his siblings away from us. He is not a fan of loud mufflers, or loud cars in general, when our big dogs or neighbor's dogs bark or when people yell. He will run for safety, usually to his foster. Rick had bowed front legs when first coming to us (from being kept in a cage too much), but over time they have straightened out and seem much stronger now.
Rick is a puppy and will need time to acclimate to your home and expectations. His new family needs to understand that he is a lifetime commitment; they must also be committed to daily exercise, continued training, and socialization.
If you are interested in adoption, DO NOT CALL; please complete an online application on 4 Paws Animal Rescue's website at www.4pawz.org. We verify the care of past/current pets. Our goal is to have the very best home for all our dogs and cats, and therefore, we reserve the right to approve or deny an application based on what we determine is in the pet's best interest.
