Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I'm a 2 year old friendly and very sweet boy. I was brought in as a stray with my buddy Duke, and now that he has found his forever family, it's my turn!
I'm like a lovey happy puppy in a medium to large dog's body - I'm actually the perfect size, and I secretly enjoy lap time and snuggles. I absolutely love people and am very good with all the other dogs at BARS adoption events. Honestly, I love everything.... except cats...they definitely aren't my favorite. I am really looking forward to finding a family where I can run and play all day with another dog who can be my canine companion and best buddy, willing to hang out and have adventures with me. I love, love, love my toys (I'm good at sharing) and I love all the people I meet - especially love the people.
I'm still young enough to be playful and puppyish, but since coming into BARS' care I have done a ton of learning about family life at my foster acreage, I have excellent manners, I know my basic commands and I'm always happy to please my people...did I mention I'll do anything for treats?. I'm house trained, and I do okay in my crate but I don't love it. I used to be a bit of an orangutang on a leash but now I've learned patience and self-control and everyone says what a smart boy I am because I've figured it out! I am still young and before BARS found me, nobody had ever shown me what a leash was!
I love people so much, and if I'm off leash I like to come at you at 100 km/hr so for this reason small children may not be best. I do give very generous kisses and have a heart that would love them unconditionally though. With time I will realize that I don't have to try so hard to please everyone all the time and I will settle down to being a fantastic and loyal family member.
If you think we I could e the missing part of your family, and you'd like to meet me (I would LOVE to meet you), please fill out an application.

All adoptions begin with an adoption application, available here or on our website (or from one of our wonderful volunteers in person). The application is reviewed by the adoptable animal's foster home as well as by the appropriate coordinator (canine/feline) to assess how the animal will fit in your home. We endeavour to respond to all applications within 72 hours, but being 100% run by volunteers sometimes we need additional time--if you haven't heard back after 72 hours, feel free to contact us to check in on your application.
Canine Adoption Fees:
$450 for puppies under 1 year of age
$375 for dogs over 1 year & under 7 years
$300 for dogs 7 years and older
Feline Adoption Fees:
$250 for kittens and cats up to 12 months old
$200 for cats between 1-6 years old
$150 for cats 6 years old and older
Adoption fees help offset the cost to our organization of providing full medical care (including spay or neuter surgery) to each animal we adopt to a furever home.
