PLEASE read thru her post about her description, she is not the dog for everyone, no small kids!) Thanks!***************
Well, first off, we really do not know what the genetic mix is in this mystery girl, lol. At first we thought she looked a bit like opossum! But then when we met her in person we thought she looked like a little Husky!! Who knows, we do know Lori is quite unique, sure to get a bit of attention. At just a petite 8 pounds she may not have Husky in her, but she is not full Chihuahua either. Lori has a longer almost wire like coat, and a bit of a curled tail, and her ears seem just a tad too big for her little face.
Lori was confiscated as part of a cruelty case. She was not doing well in the shelter, who can blame her. She came from a rough life and had no idea what was going to happen next. So, she came to our rescue, which is totally foster home based, so Lori could settle in and be a part of a family.
She did settle in, just a tad quicker than we expected. But that happens. So many dogs are so scared, intimidated by the whole shelter/rescue situation. Put them into a home environment and they blossom. When they finally make it into their forever family, with time, they finally become their true selves. A little love goes a long ways!! Now that Lori has been here for a bit we get to see her funny little personality. She is playful, quite active(her best pal is Rocky the labradoodle!), she loves to play and is a great snuggler.
Lori is just a year old, maybe 2 or so?? But she is young. Somewhere along the line she was housebroken and is pretty social. She gets along fine with other dogs, but as she has become comfortable in her foster home a little bossy streak has emerged, lol. She can be a little feisty(our vet said she was a little handful, lol). She needs a family that will be patient with her, let her settle in and not expect her to be a little lap dog right away, she wants a little time to check you out. We do not recommend kids under 10 or so with Lori. She may need her space, and they may not understand.
Once Lori trusts you, she is the biggest love. She is a snuggler and a kisser, wants to be by your side all the time. She is sitting right her with me now, if I sit down, she is with me. She will need a family that possibly works at home, or is an active retiree. She is very young, so she does need plenty of exercise. She does love her lap time, but she also is still quite rambunctious and playful as well. Her adoption fee is $350. Please email Kristine at joysparrows@gmail.com.
