Strudel is a Domestic Short Hair (DSH)-mix, female, DOB: 4/26/23.
Strudel is smaller in stature than her two brothers, Bagel and Pretzel, but don't let that fool you - she has an engaging, larger-than-life personality and so much love she is brimming with enthusiasm to share. Highly social, interested, inquisitive, and pretty easy-to-please, she's an extremely sweet, friendly, and very loving cat once she's comfortable with those around her and her environment. And speaking of, she's almost always happy at the chance to explore her surroundings and be on-the-go to find what next feather-toting toy mouse needs to be vanquished.
Strudel enjoys ruff-n-tumble play sessions with her siblings as well as any other young felines in the vicinity. A young cat who, like all of her siblings, is mostly undemanding and easy going, after the playtime and exploring is over, she’ll be looking for some hands-on-attention, snuggling near her people, and before too long looking to find a warm, comfortable-spot, of course, where she can contentedly laze the afternoon away.
Strudel, along with littermates, Pretzel, Bagel, & Biscuit and their mom, Granola, came to Monroe SPCA as strays needing critical care - all 5 cats were covered in fleas, infested with ear mites, dehydrated, and emaciated. They immediately went into an emergency Monroe SPCA foster home, where they began treatment for parasites and finally found some rest and reprieve. Unfortunately soon after rescue, Granola suddenly passed. It was pretty clear she put her everything into keeping her kittens alive, as she was the most emaciated of the group. While with Monroe SPCA the kittens were also treated for URI, Giardia, Coccidia, Tapeworm, and Roundworm.
And survive they did - all four cats now happy, healthy, and looking for their forever homes with families who can give them the time and attention a young cats needs. Although Strudel can be adopted individually, we recommend a pairing with several of our other young cats having compatible personalities and temperament.
Strudel is best suited as an indoor pet and companion for a home with a calm, low-active to moderately active lifestyle and no active young children under the age of six (6). She is comfortable with other compatible cats and kittens, and she’ll be comfortable in the presence of well-mannered, cat-friendly dogs after being given some adjustment time to warm-up and settle into her new surroundings. As with all Monroe SPCA adoptable animals, a home visit and a meet-n-greet with any housemate pets will be required prior to adoption.
Strudel currently resides at Monroe SPCA’s Adoption Center and Retail Store. You can meet her by appointment with pre-approved adoption application. To start the adoption process, complete and submit Monroe SPCA’s adoption application linked above.
All Monroe SPCA cats available for adoption have an adoption fee of $85.00. This fee includes the cat being spayed or neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, dewormed, tested for FeLV and FIV, and microchipped with lifelong registration prior to adoption.
