MEET ALMOND!

Almond is looking for a loving home where he can spend his days popcorning around and enjoying a lots of salad and snacks. Whether you`re a seasoned guinea pig parent or a first-timer, Almond`s easygoing personality makes him a great fit for any family. When Almond has lived with other guinea pigs, he prefers to be in charge. This can be a bit intimidating for other piggie friends, so it will be important to introduce him to potential cagemates slowly. He could also live as a single piggie provided he gets lots of out-of-cage time with his person and plenty of fun toys to keep him occupied during the day! If you`re considering expanding your guinea pig family, Almond could be the missing piece to complete your herd.

Like any pet, guinea pigs require a lot of care and attention. It is important to familiarize yourself with their daily and long-term needs before adopting a new pig. Since guinea pigs are prey animals, they`ll need a little extra time and patience adjusting to their surroundings before their unique personalities can truly shine! Guinea pigs are talkative and clever, and make wonderful companions when they`ve bonded with you!

In order to adopt, we will need to approve a photo of the enclosure Almond will be living in before you take them home.

The Animal Rescue League of Boston is committed to matching adoptable animals with a permanent home. Our conversation-based, application-free adoption process is designed so that the needs of both the animal and the adopter are understood and compatible with one another. We require the following as part of the adoption process:
* Adopter must be 18 years of age or older
* A current government-issued ID (no student IDs)
* Have a conversation with an ARL adoption counselor
* A photo of the cage your pet will live in, if adopting a small animal or bird
