Clifford the big red dog is mostly Chow. He weighs around 70 pounds and is estimated to be around 2 years old. Clifford was dumped on the side of a rural road with a litter of puppies and was rescued by good Samaritans. Clifford is a super wonderful dog. He is sweet, gentle, and good-natured. He especially loves puppies, small dogs, and gentle children. We do not know how he would do with cats.

Clifford is a very good boy. He is crate-trained, sits on command, and walks well on a leash. It is extremely hot here in Texas and Clifford is happy to be in his crate inside the air-conditioned house. We are working on housetraining (teaching him that just because the little dogs pee in the house does not mean that he can). Clifford could probably use other gentle obedience training. Clifford rides well in a vehicle but is a bit nervous about getting into the vehicle. He is shy with new people (especially men) and takes some time to trust. Clifford is sensitive and will hide from angry voices, rough treatment, and mean dogs. We are sure he was not treated well by whoever had him before. Clifford needs to be treated gently so he will trust you. Once he trusts you or another dog, he becomes happy and playful. Clifford deserves a wonderful home. He must be in the house as a loved member of the family. He must be walked on a leash and have a fenced yard to run and play.
Clifford is neutered, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. Clifford has been treated for heartworms and is now heartworm-free. He receives monthly heartworm and flea prevention. We would love Clifford to have a fabulous forever home and we will consider both in-state or out-of-state applications. Clifford has a $200 in-state adoption fee. His $450 out-of-state adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport by a reputable and trusted company to the Northeast and the Pacific Northwest. A Conversation about the dog you would like to adopt. We will ask questions, give you tips and pointers & answer any questions you may have

Transport to out-of-state adopters is possible and the adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport. Dogs can be transported almost anywhere within the US. The dog is sent with one of several reliable and trusted transport companies. The adopter meets the transport at the scheduled place, date, and time to pick up their new furbaby.
