Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Say hello to Mowgli!
Mowgli is a sensitive 3-year-old Rottweiler/Black Lab mix with a heart of gold. At first, he may be a bit shy and reserved, but give him some time, and you`ll discover a loyal companion who loves nothing more than to snuggle up with his favorite people. His favorite pastime is to get on your lap and pretend he`s a lap dog.
Mowgli shows potential with other dogs, but he can be nervous initially, so a slow introduction is required to ensure a good fit. With patience and understanding, Mowgli will thrive in a home that appreciates his gentle nature. He would do best in a home with kids aged 13 and up who can respect his sensitivity and help him feel secure. If you`re looking for a devoted, affectionate, and loving friend, Mowgli is ready to find his forever family. Let`s help this wonderful boy find the loving home he deserves!
If Mowgli looks too cute to pass up, give us a call at 330-487-0333 ext. 226 to learn more about him and schedule a time to come in and meet!

All of our adoptable animals are up-to-date on all age appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, de-wormed, de-flea and microchipped before adoptions are finalized. All dogs over six months of age receive a temperament assessment by our Certified Professional Dog Trainer to ensure appropriate placement. Also, many animals in our care receive basic obedience training to improve manners and increase adoptability.
We are currently doing adoptions by appointment only. Please contact us by phone at (234) 212-9843 or email at adoptions@summithumane.org, and an adoption counselor will return your message. They will review our adoption process, answer any questions, and tell you more about the animals currently available for adoption at our shelter and in our foster program. If we have a match for you and your family, an appointment will be scheduled to meet the animal.
Additional questions can be directed to our adoption team at (234) 212-9843.

More about this shelter
Since 1968, the Humane Society of Summit County (HSSC) has been the trusted caretaker and advocate for Summit County’s victims of animal abuse, neglect, and abandonment and stray animals suffering from illness and injury. We employ two full-time Humane Officers who respond to emergency calls, investigate animal cruelty, and, as warranted, prosecute offenders. We protect and care for our community’s abused, discarded, and forgotten animals. We strive every day to rehabilitate our rescued animals, find them great homes, and provide them with bright futures.
