Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Natalia is a dog who knows what she wants: CUDDLES! Once Natalia has had an opportunity to go and frolic and play in the yard all she wants to do is cuddle. She loves to run, but she also enjoys snuggling up to her favorite people, could that be you possibly? She loves to run, play, snuggle, eat treats, loves peanut butter, and toys. She LOVES squeaky toys the most. She is an affectionate dog who just wants to be loved unconditionally. She is a 2 ½ year old pitbull terrier mix, spayed, heartworm negative, and up-to-date on all of her vaccinations. She would love nothing more than to cuddle with people and get all the pets, hugs, and kisses she can find. Come see Natalia today.
The Humane Society of South Mississippi (HSSM) is a progressive animal welfare organization located in Gulfport, MS. Each year HSSM houses approximately 7,000 homeless pets. Every day we are fighting a space capacity crisis as we try to care for the overwhelming amount of abandoned local pets. Please consider visiting our shelter to adopt your next best friend. If you have a question about one of our adoptable animals, please give us a call at (228) 863-3354, email adoptions@hssm.org or stop by from 10am-5pm Tuesday-Friday or 10am-4pm Saturday. Walk-ins stop 30 minutes before close. The entrance is located at 2615 25th Ave in Gulfport. Come to our back parking lot through our adoptions entrance.

HSSM is home to over 300 pets on any given day, most of which are looking for new forever homes! Your new best friend could be waiting at HSSM right now. Our beautiful, 41,000 square foot facility is currently open to the public. HSSM is open for adoptions Tuesday – Friday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. No appointment is necessary to adopt, however, adoptions are first-come, first served. You must come to HSSM to complete your adoption and make sure you bring a photo ID, as it is required to complete adoption paperwork.
Our adoptable animals page is self-updating and displays ALL of HSSM’s adorable adoptable pets from “pocket pets” to birds and of course the hundreds of dogs and cats currently calling HSSM home! See one you like? Make sure you note your favorite’s name and animal ID number so that HSSM staff and volunteers can easily find him/her when you come in!
Adoptions are cut off every day about 30 minutes prior to closing and possibly earlier if volume is high. Weekends are busy and you may have to wait more than an hour (especially in the afternoons) so please be prepared.
