Sweet Chestnut is a warrior! He survived parvo as a baby and is now looking for his forever people! He's been with ARE for 2 years and this big boy is looking for a loving home willing to take the time to teach him what all those creature comforts we take for granted are; couch naps, Netflix binges, lazy Sundays, etc.. We believe, after this much time in the shelter, Chestnut will take some extra time to acclimate to his people but, from experience, he will be your absolute best friend once he trusts you! He has done well with other dogs his size while at the shelter and has lots of energy to play! We recommend and adult-only home for Chestnut as the few children he's met seem to cause him some stress. He's a unique and wonderful dog looking for a unique and wonderful home that he can spend the rest of his days in. If you're looking for a dog willing to give you their whole heart, Chestnut is your guy!

Our goal is to adopt as many pets into loving forever homes as possible each month. We screen applications and arrange meet and greet times with each animal. Once the potential adopter has completed their application and met the pet, we do a 1 on 1 consultation about pet care and the life expectancy of their new family member.
