My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Jojo! Jojo is a sweet gem of an Aussie Mix, maybe some Australian Cattle Dog and Husky in the mix. She is waiting for a loving family to play with, adventure with and bond. Jojo has been through some rough times in her approximately 18 months of life – found in a ditch with her pups. However, now she is ready for the good times to roll.
Jojo is house trained, crate trained and learning house manners. She has a stable, cautious and reserved temperament typical of an Aussie and is non-reactive. This means she is easy to walk, gets along with other dogs and likes people. She warms up more quickly to women however. Jojo is not aggressive or snappy – she just needs time to decide if she likes you.
She loves to play with our resident Aussie but can be a bit of a bossy boots. I think she would do well with another stable dog who is not dominant. She is a NO on cats though. She is slowly learning that our indoor cats are off-limits. Her prey drive is moderate, and she will chase birds, squirrels and rabbits. Jojo has not been tested with children. She is still learning not to jump and is a bit leery of sudden movements so older children who are dog savvy would be best.
Jojo is a Velcro dog with her person. When I leave the room, she follows. She loves to cuddle and can be demanding for attention. Once feeling comfortable, she will shower you with kisses and flop over so you can pet her belly. She is moderate in activity level with a nice off switch.
She is food motivated which makes training easier. She also wants to please. Jojo just wants to be part of the family and watch TV, hike with, and hang with her person. Jojo is athletic and fun to watch – she loves her toys, occasionally somersaults and gets the zoomies frequently. She just is a joy to be with.
Jojo has recently been diagnosed with Idiopathic Epilepsy and has had 2 small seizures in a 30 day period. This may be related to heartworm medication. She may be going on medication which will be about $30/month.
In summary, Jojo is a young Aussie mix with a cautious but stable temperament and is adjusting well. She is learning to play and how fun toys can be. She rides in a car well, is fascinated by her reflection and likes to watch nature documentaries with horses. She will need a patient family who will give her time to warm up. She would love a dog pal to show her how fun it can be to be a dog.
