My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Simba is a 4 year old American Pit Bull Terrier. We pulled him from the shelter two years ago after he was hit by a car, but found his family and reunited them. Unfortunately, he was found as a stray again and in rough shape, so we decided it’s time for him to find a safe home for forever.

He likes other dogs, and has lived with dogs that are both large and small. He also has lived with children of all ages, including infants and kids who may not have the best dog manners.

Simba requires a low-fat diet, and we have him on GI food. He does ok with occasional regular treats - but his main diet must remain low-fat in order for him to stay healthy. He is very housebroken, has lived in a home before, and is crate trained. He does not like surprise strangers inside his yard or home, and does best when he knows a new friend is present with an introduction.

He is extremely treat motivated and favorite treats should be kept somewhere he can’t reach them. He loves stuffies and good runs. Because romps during his outside time are his favorite, and he likes to guard his yard from birds and burglars, he will need a securely fenced yard. We’d be open to a dog experienced family that has alternative plan with lots of exercise if it’s a great fit.

Simba is one of our favorite dogs.
