My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

It`s me, Dazzle (I know the name Max) and I am here to tell you about myself! I am a charming companion looking for my forever home! I am the perfect blend of playful energy and calm demeanor. I am pure beauty and have a luscious soft coat (if you can`t tell by my photos).

One of my standout qualities is my excellent leash manners! Some dogs may set me off, but I am redirected easily as I am extremely food motivated. And don’t worry, you will get a few private training sessions with me to learn my walking ways!  Other than that, taking a leisurely stroll with me is a joy and a testament to my intelligence and eagerness to please! I am also fully potty trained and will be sure to finish all my business outside.

I am a social dog who loves human interaction after a proper introduction. I am a little shy at first so give me time and once comfortable, I will love all your pets! My ideal home would be one where I can receive undivided attention and love from humans and be the only dog in the house. I would do well in a home with older children, no young kiddos for me! However, with proper introduction and supervision, I can enjoy playdates with other dogs.

Once I open up, I am a total goof! I LOVE playing with pumpkin slices my foster mom gives me, and I have a weird fetish of playing with bugs! But it just completes my silly self!

I can assure you I am the loyal and affectionate family member missing from your life! Please consider giving me my forever home!

More about this rescue

We are in need of Foster Homes for our homeless animals!!! Can you help?

What is a Foster Home?
A foster home takes in one of our homeless animals rather than boarding them at the kennel and cares for it until we find a permanent loving home. Almost Home Foundation pays for the all animal's food and medical expenses. The foster home learns the animal's temperament and behaviors. The foster home learns if they get along with other animals. The foster home provides insights on the animals that helps Almost Home Foundation look for the right home for the animal.

Please help!! Just fill out this form and we will contact you or call 630-582-3738 and leave a message letting us know that you are interested in fostering!

We are an all-volunteer, registered, not-for-profit 501c3 animal rescue group. Our mission is to save adoptable dogs and cats from being destroyed by finding permanent, loving homes. For details, visit us online at www.almosthomefoundation.org.

Almost Home Foundation is always looking for volunteers to handle dogs at adoption shows, set up adoption shows, write for the newsletter, photograph events, or foster animals. For a list of opportunities, visit online at www.volunteermatch.org
or www.almosthomefoundation.org.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
We are a Rescue not a Shelter. This simply means we do not own a building where we house animals. We look for loving foster homes that will give temporary care and love on the animal’s journey to a permanent, loving home. When a foster home is not available, we will board the animal at a boarding kennel.

Our 5-year goal is to have a shelter. This is an aggressive goal that will take many donations and memberships. We will strive for this goal with a great team of volunteers and help from people like you! Please become a member, become a sponsor or make a donation.

Our animals are found strayed and brought in from the police. After being held for 7 days, we evaluate the temperament of the animal and determine if the animal is suitable to be a pet. On rare occasion, we will also rescue animals that are in desperate situations where the rescue makes the difference between life and death. We do not accept Owner Give-ups.
