My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MEET DAISY! Daisy is an active and beautiful 2-year-old golden mix in need of a forever home (her paperwork says Chihuahua but she sure doesn't look like one - she looks like a mini-Retriever)! She weighs only about 30-35 lbs.

Daisy was rescued from a California shelter, and now is in a foster home near Seattle. She is still discovering the world after a rough time, which included being abandoned in her past. Now, Daisy loves to play, be with her person, get treats and do the zoomies! She's shy and timid with new people, but warms up quickly - especially to women, and more slowly to men who know how to let her come to them and get a treat. (She may snap at someone if they grab at her, as that scares her.) She is in no way mean, however, but is just a girl who needs some patience, love and understanding. She has a scar on her leg and a slight limp stemming from some old injury, but this doesn't impact her one bit, as she loves to run and play. She also does well with baths, and loves belly rubs!

Daisy gets along beautifully with other dogs and immediately wants to play. She loves walks and she’s learning about the beach. The waves frightened her at first. She is fine in the car, and she’s crate trained. We don’t know how she is with cats; she’s been confused by her foster mom's parrots, but everyone is.

Daisy is also very smart. She sits and waits for her food bowl, comes when called, and is learning new commands readily. No food bowl aggression. She's also walking well on a leash. She's fascinated by slippers and pant legs, so it's possible should have some Corgi or Cattle Dog in her.

More than anything, Daisy loves walks, but mostly in non-crowded areas, where she can feel the sunshine or breeze on her face and not stress about her surroundings. She's gradually getting more comfortable with strangers. She doesn’t growl or even bark at the neighbor, though there's been no immediate interaction between them. She will make a great companion for anyone with patience and understanding.

Meet the Pet

After an initial interview, we work to set up a meet and greet with the new pet.

Additional adoption info

We work hard to match the right dog with the right person or people. Often people inquire about one dog, but end up adopting a different dog that is a better fit. We have many dogs to choose from and are able to successfully match people with their forever companions.

Go meet their pets

We do private meet-and-greets only.
