RESCUE STORY
Belle, pronounced (Bell) is nine months old. She’s heartworm negative and she needs to be spayed but other than that she’s ready to go to her new home. She was found by an angel that noticed she had been dropped off on a dirt road—she could not walk away. She was in horrific condition; she was covered in ticks, fleas and had lots of hair loss. She is much better now after months of treatment and is stunning. Her coat is thick, black, shiny and healthy. There is only one little spot on her head and her foster is treating it with coconut oil—then she will be even more beautiful.

PERSONALITY
Belle is also described by her foster family as very smart, gentle and will make a good pet for an active family----she really is a perfect dog. Her foster family tells us that she is loveable, kind and sweet-tempered. As most puppy’s, she is overflowing with energy. She adores people and will greet everyone as if that person were their best friend. After a day of playing, she will turn into a lapdog – don’t be surprised if you find her sleeping in bed under the covers. She loves all kids and other dogs.

Patricia, her foster mom, tells us that she is not sure how she would be with the cats if left unattended. She is very good-natured, so happy to feel healthy again, eager to learn all about her new life and doesn’t have a mean bone in her body.

ABOUT THE BREED
When deciding on a new member of your family, it is always a good idea to research breeds to determine if it will be a good match for everyone. The characteristics of Labs blend well with most families. They are loyal, loving, and confident guardians. The sweet-faced, lovable Labrador retriever is America’s most popular dog breed.

Labs are famously friendly, outgoing, active, and high-spirited companions who have more than enough affection to go around for the whole family. Labs socialize well with neighbor dogs and humans alike. But don’t mistake her easy-going personality for low energy: The Lab is an enthusiastic athlete that requires lots of exercise, like swimming and marathon games of fetch, to keep physically and mentally fit.

Belle is ready to find her own families that will continue on with as much love as her foster family, two and four legged. We are looking for a family that will have lots of room in their hearts for a dog that was dumped and not cared for by her previous owner.

If you are looking to make a difference this year to a deserving dog in need then don’t wait --she's the ultimate little buddy! Consider opening your heart and home to this sweet girl. She will bring you so much joy for years to come.
