Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Ruby is a very special 2 ½ -year-old Redbone Hound mix. She is a beautiful chestnut red color, has a soft, shiny coat, and is in perfect weight at 54 pounds. It is hard to imagine that she was a starved, sickly puppy when she was found a year and a half ago. Ruby was very scared of people when we first started working with her. Now she loves the folks she knows but is still a little shy around strangers. She is getting better every day, but she will need someone who understands shy dogs and will be patient with her. She loves her doggie and kitty siblings and gets along with all the dogs she meets at the dog park and elsewhere. She would do best with another dog in the home. She also would need a fenced-in backyard as she loves to run.
Ruby is house trained, does not destroy anything when left alone, and knows most obedience commands. She loves to go to the dog park, play on agility equipment, and fetch balls. She is medium to high energy and loves to run, so she would make a great jogging buddy. She is presently being fostered in NC. If you think Ruby is the girl for you, call Naomi at 910-528-6588
