My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Bailey!!

If you are looking for the silliest little love muffin who is smart and sweet and kind of kooky then Bailey is your little girl! This almost 9 pound ball of love is a combination of what seems to be a few breeds Maltese, Corgi (she has no tail) and Papillon. She is non-shedding with a white coat with brown accents and the softest charcoal gray and brown ears. She is about 18 months old and is 100% housebroken.

This little girl came into rescue with her best friend, a Poodle named Chewy who both were living in a very bad situation. The woman who had them from the time they were 6 week old puppies until now became homeless with her daughter. They lost the ranch that they were renting and had to move out with their multiple dogs and cats. The only place that they could find was living in the back of a truck yard where drivers go to park their rigs, shower and spend the night before they get back on the road. A family member runs it so they were staying outdoors and also in a bus that no longer runs with all the dogs and cats. Mostly they lived outside of the bus setting up a makeshift tented area next to it.

They finally decided to give up the two little dogs (Bailey and Chewy) because they would run under the trucks and were afraid that they would wind up getting killed. Now they are in foster care in a private home living with several other dogs and cats and get along well with them all. Bailey is EXTREMELY loving. Adores cuddles and kisses on the head. She's only shy briefly and then she gets over it right quick.

One of her favorite things to do is sit up, balanced on her hind legs and just wait for you to pet her. Cutest thing we have ever seen! She would do great in a wide variety of homes as she is kind and loving. As her and Chewy have been together for almost a year we are happy to keep them together but it is not a requirement to do so as they like each other but are not bonded and she is very friendly with other dogs as well as cats.

Her adoption fee includes the following:

1. Current vaccinations including rabies
2. Spay (Provided by the rescue)
3. Deworming
4. Microchip
5. Starter food
6. Grooming
7. Harness and leash

An adoption fee applies.

As we prescreen via email ONLY (we do NOT make or receive phone calls in the pre-screening phase) please tell us a bit about you such as:
1. Your lifestyle, activity level and work schedule.
2. Area you live in and if it is a house or apartment. (Please indicate city)
3. How many adults, children and pets in the household.
4. Where your pet stays when you are out or at work.
5. Where your pet will sleep.
6. Dog breed experience
7. Have you ever had to give up a pet
8. If you do not currently have a pet how you will keep Bailey Jane socialized with other dogs

Some notes to consider before applying for Bailey Jane:

1. Bailey is an 18 month old young dog who has come from a very difficult living situation. Please make sure that everyone is on board and ready for the responsibility of a young dog and is ready to give her the love and structure that she needs to make her the best dog ever.
2. Please make sure you are ready to adopt before coming to see our adoptable dogs. We are a foster based rescue and do not have the space to hold dogs for a couple of weeks while you vacation or make your way to California to come and adopt. We will adopt out of state on occasion but ONLY if the potential adopter comes here to adopt in person and that is after a screening by Skype. WE DO NOT SHIP DOGS EVER.
3. We are often inundated with emails about our adoptable dogs and try as we might to make everyone happy it is nearly impossible with only one dog and sometimes up to 50 potential families. The more information you provide in your email to us the quicker we will get back to you. If you have written to us before about a particular dog in the past and did not receive a response please do try again. However PLEASE DO NOT SEND MORE THAN ONE EMAIL PER ADOPTABLE DOG. We try to answer every email but it is not always possible. Every dog has different home requirements that we search for so sometimes you are the right fit for the dog we are trying to place. .
4. We do not make appointments for people to just come "see" the dogs available. They are in private foster homes and we go through a pre-screening process before any appointments are made.

Thank you for choosing to adopt!
