My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Zippy! He definitely earned his name as he was a little ball of energy as a kitten. As he’s aged a bit he has slowed down some and doesn’t bounce off the walls. He’s fun and playful and does still zip about, but he also now relaxes and hangs out with foster mama and papa when they watch tv. But note he is VERY independent and likes to be around his people but not necessarily right next to them. He’s not one to be held, just a petting here and there. He likes to play with the resident 3 yr old female cat. Zippy is fine with the large and the small resident dogs, but he doesn’t play much with them. Zippy will be a good playmate to a spunky female feline friend, given a proper and gradual introduction as is needed with kitties.

More about this rescue

We have created a non-profit animal shelter dedicated to eliminating cruelty, abuse and the overpopulation of animals. The Humane Society is committed to creating the awareness of animal rights throughout the Romeoville community by providing numerous animal welfare programs, including pet adoptions, humane education and cruelty investigations. ALL animals available for adoption are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, fecal tested, fiv/felv tested (cats only), heartworm tested (dogs only) and microchipped. It is the policy of the Romeoville Humane Society to spay or neuter all animals in its care in an effort to reduce the homeless pet population.
