Here's what the humans have to say about me:
There's something you need to know about Oscar...he LOVES people! He LOVES people! He LOVES people!
This big floof is a softy both literally and figuratively. That gorgeous fluffy coat just begs to be stroked while the big heart that goes with it melts into your hands. If you are looking for a dog pillow to add to your couch, here's your guy. He would love nothing better than to snuggle up with you for a good rom com (or the latest Star Wars!)
Other things he loves (although not as much as people...): walks and hikes, fake chase, pets, scratches and food. He really likes his food.
We don't exactly know what kind of dog he is, but guess at border collie mixed with some larger livestock guardian breed (Pyrenees maybe?) He was picked up as a stray in Fresno County and made his way to Santa Barbara Humane and then made his way to us at Search Dog. Because he didn't quite have the qualities we need for our training, he is now looking for that couch he can decorate with himself! Each staff member who meets him says something like..."if I didn't have 3 dogs already...what a great guy!"
Oscar is gentle and sweet-natured, and only sometimes boisterous. He's a peacemaker when in play groups with other dogs but may need some work if there is a cat in the house. He would love a large family with lots of people to slather him with attention or an active partner who likes to dote and do things with their dog (including watch TV!).
He is a soft and special boy and deserves a soft and special place in the world.
