Here's what the humans have to say about me:
*FOSTER-TO-ADOPT*
Golden Retriever | 2 months | Male | 7 lbs
*We cannot guarantee breed nor age.
Temperament: Affectionate! Sweet! Well-behaved!
Activity Level: Medium/high energy but also naps a lot! Like most puppies, Ray is active when he has pent up energy but settles quickly after he has expelled some. Ray gets several walks a day and ample play time.
Vetting: Core vaccines (DHPP, Bordetella, will receive rabies at 16 weeks), not yet neutered but will be at the Newmarket SPCA - his foster-to-adopt home must be willing to take him to his vet appointments, microchipped, dewormed, fecal (pending results), on flea/tick/heartworm prevention.
Housebroken: Working on it but doing well with both potty training and also pee pad training.
Good with Dogs: Yes! So far Ray Ray has been great with the dogs he has met.
Good with Cats: Amazing! Ray Ray’s foster has two cats and he has been respectful of them. No chasing but likes to play with them.
Good with Children: Yes, Ray Ray has been kind to children he has met. He absolutely loves children.
Prey drive: None observed.
Response to the outdoors: Ray loves the outdoors. He does not love busy streets and loud noises but getting lots of exposure with downtown walks.
Crate-Trained: Yes! Sleeps through the night in his crate.
Resource Guarding: Ray has exhibited some resource guarding when eating but is working with his foster so that he and his food are safe through various training techniques.
Response to commands: Ray Ray is learning basic commands. Great at sitting!
Are they vocal: Can bark when playful and excited but generally a quiet boy.
Leash Etiquette: Ray is learning how to walk well on leash.
Transportation: Ray is a bit busy in a car and should be crated. He has not been tested on public transit.
Puppy behaviours: Ray is in a teething phase of development so can be nippy. He will need further training with this, along with toys and chews to help his teething process.
*Ray Ray’s bio may change as we get to know him better.
*Ray Ray comes with 6 weeks of pet insurance totalling $500 plus 2 free online taped training classes.

Our team here at CCCR have been briefed and prepared for the storm of inquiries and applications that will surely be coming our way for this beautiful unicorn of a dog.
Ray Ray’s foster describes him as amazing and incredible. This sweet little man came to us as an owner surrender. Ray Ray currently gets over 5 small walks a day to help with his potty training (along with potty breaks) and to keep him active, any adoptive home should expect to keep this up.
Ray Ray has done very well with his meetings of other dogs, cats and kids, and would be ideal in many settings. He can be a bit barky when playful so those in apartments or condos should be in tolerant buildings if applying.
This boy is a sweet, loving pup who has been responsive to training. As with all puppies, he will need an adopter who is prepared to help guide him and set him up to be the very best dog he can be. Ray Ray’s forever home will need to commit to training whether they do so themselves or hire a trainer.
Ray Ray is a busy boy in the car and should be crated or otherwise contained. He would be a great first (or second or third) dog and would be appropriate for both an active single person, couple or a family with respectful and gentle children!
Since Ray Ray still needs to be neutered and complete his vaccines, we are looking for a foster-to-adopt home that will commit to taking him to his vet appointments in Toronto and to his neuter appointment at the Newmarket OSPCA. Once Ray Ray is totally cleared medically, his foster-to-adopt family can officially adopt him!
