My basic info
Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Tru is a very handsome and healthy, two-year-old, tri-color American crested guinea pig looking for a loving guardian.
Tru was relinquished to Friends of Petraits Rescue where he lived with ten other males. At the rescue, he started fighting with the other males, so he was neutered to help him find a friend – either male or female! But, he can also live as the one and only guinea pig, or in a habitat next to another guinea pig.
Tru loves to be hand fed, and eats unlimited timothy, orchard and botanical hays, a cup of fresh salad each day including cilantro, romaine, and red leaf lettuce, parsley, and only a ¼ cup of guinea pig pellets. Guinea pigs need daily vitamin C from fresh pellets, a 1-inch square of red pepper, or some of their dark leafy greens.
Please read up on guinea pig care and diet before adopting by visiting this excellent website http://www.guinealynx.info/
Tru would love a home with people who will handle him daily, keep him well-fed, nails trimmed, and keep his habitat nice and clean.
If you’re interested in meeting and possibly adopting Tru, please fill out the adoption application at https://friendsofpetraits.com/guinea-pig-adoption-application/ and follow up to make an appointment by contacting friendsofpetraits@gmail.com
His adoption fee of $75 benefits the Friends of Petraits Rescue Group. For an additional $50, you can purchase his 2 foot by 4 foot Midwest guinea pig habitat and a starter kit of all the supplies you’ll need to care for him.
He is being fostered in Chicago’s Andersonville neighborhood.
