Meet Juniper! This precious girl was rescued from a local shelter and appears to be around 2 years old. Her DNA test revealed that she is 51% Great Pyrenees and 24% Australian Cattle Dog.
With alert little ears and a spattering of freckles across her muzzle, Juniper is as cute as can be! She loves to play and run, especially with doggy friends.
Juniper takes time warming up to new adult dogs but she absolutely adores puppies. She has a blast playing with them. Cautious not to hurt them, she mostly performs a lot of play bows, boops them with her nose, and jovially scampers away with their toys.
Her playfulness is so contagious that the senior Pyr in her foster home joins her for romps in the yard. She would love at least one playful doggy companion in her new home.
Juniper is great with children but due to her puppy playfulness, she is be best with children over five years old.
She is fully house trained. She is great with her loose leash walking skills. She is crate trained, but has no need for one.
She is food motivated, an enthusiastic eater, and takes her treats gently. She has been known to counter surf, and has learned that it's highly discouraged. She wants to work hard for treats, so she is a quick study for learning new commands and tricks.
Juniper needs enough exercise and mental stimulation to meet her energy level and help her tap into the more relaxed Great Pyrenees side of her genetic makeup.
Juniper needs a family who will include her in their adventures. She loves going for trips in the car and will load up without hesitation -- she has so much fun looking out the window and settles down for petting along the way.
SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Adoption fees are $300 for dogs under 1 year old, $250 for dogs 1-7 years old, $200 for dogs over 7 years old. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention.
