Henry is an extraordinary cat meaning, literally, “extra ordinary”. Pick out all of the clichés we use to describe cats - sweet, laid back, friendly, lovable…well, they all apply! Henry’s owner died leaving behind Henry and several other animals. They were taken to the shelter where Maine Coon Rescue found and rescued him. He was not in the best of shape - thin and unkempt; his tail was shaved because of an infection, probably caused by an embedded burr. Just a little time, some good food and lots of love brought him to the Henry he is today. He is a big, cuddly, four year old guy who is being fostered in a crazy house with lots of dogs and other cats. Henry is upflappable – he just takes everything in and gets along with everyone. He is an affectionate companion cat who likes to be close by his human(s).
Because of his early days and, most likely, failure to vaccinate, Henry, unfortunately, has the herpes virus that flares up occasionally. This is a very common condition with cats and one that is very manageable and treatable. Here is a link to a website that explains it. http://pets.webmd.com/feline-
Henry is looking for a home with love and attention. He does well with dogs and other cats but would probably also be very content with just doting humans. He will return love many times over!
***When you view the pictures, you will see Henry shortly after his tail was shaved. The next picture shows his tail today - fully recovered!
