Welcome Arthur to CCPAL Rescue. He is a Terrier/Plott Hound is our best guess. He may have some Great Pyrenees as he has the extra toe on his back foot. He weighs about 60 pounds and looks to be ideal weight. He is about 3 years old. Arthur has a big head that makes him look masculine and he naturally gravitates toward men. We call Arthur a perfect man dog as he would be perfect for a man who is looking for a great companion for any of your outdoor activities. He would also be great for some family where the husband works away from home and wants a dog as a companion for his wife that will make her feel safe. He has a lower coat and moderate shedding dog. He is good on a leash after he calms down from a good walk. He is very excited when first out of his kennel and he pulls some. That is natural as many of the other dogs are the same way. He is confident enough to go as an only dog and if we adopt out of state and cannot do introductions first, we think he would be best as an only dog. He would also be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. He is neutered, healthy, vaccinated, and ready for his forever home. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland(Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states.

More about this rescue
C.C.P.A.L. seeks to reduce the enormous problem of pet overpopulation in Bandera County We promote low-cost spay/neuter programs; advise on basic health care & proper shelter for pets & offer excellent dog obedience classes several times each year. Since 2002, CCPAL has rescued nearly 5,000 animals. We are in constant need of foster homes for these pets until we find them homes. Our pets are in kennels on an acreage in Texas. We can use a transporter to get them outside of Texas if we find a great home.
