Here's what the humans have to say about me:
A reintroduction to now ADOPTABLE Nellie!
Nellie, was homeless and running in a neighborhood in the city near where Karma and Teddy were found. Some kind neighbors knew the right people to trap her, get her safely into rescue. She is now looking for her forever home.
She is a slight 17lbs, 3yrs old, tail included. Playful, loves her toys and her person; dog and cat friendly. She would love a confident canine r family member. She’ll need someone who’ll help with continuing her socialization, and confidence building. She is crate trained, and house trained when on a good routine. Knows a couple basic tricks, she loves to sit with her person and be close. Also does well entertaining herself with toys.
We’re finding she isn’t aware of all things, and some are scary; she’s curious and usually finds the courage to investigate and smell. She has some stranger danger, with slow patient introductions she does warm up.
We are working on leash walking, and she is excited to go. She is doing pretty well, strangers will get a woof or two. New fosters are always walked double leashed for their safety.
Due to the circumstances of how we found Nellie, she will require a fenced in yard. She does bark a bit when home alone, so a condo or townhome is not recommended. We are not sure about kids as she has not been exposed to children at her foster home.
We have no history, or backstory for this girl.
All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers. We need an approved application on file to set up a meeting with a dog you might be interested in. You can find our application at www.aussierescuemn.com. All dogs have an adoption fee of $300 plus MN sales tax. We pride ourselves on matches that are awesome for both the dog and your family. Aussie Rescue of MN is here for support, advice and as a safety net for our dogs for the rest of their lives.
