Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Summer is a 3-month-old female mixed breed (German Pinacher/Minature Pinscher/Chihuahua). She has very short tan fur with a couple of spotted toes on each foot. Summer was most likely dumped by uncaring owners as she was rescued from the middle of a road trying to find whatever car she was thrown out of. After being almost hit by a car, she was scooped up to safety and brought to our rescue. Summer is only shy for a few moments until she knows you are kind. She was underweight, had fleas and was filthy. She is currently 11lbs and being vetted. She will be a BEAUTIFUL dog. She is extremely loving, but looking for someone to give this poor girl the life and attention she deserves. She does cry when her foster mom is out of her sight but this separation anxiety is common for stressed dogs. The great news, is that she has been crying for shorter time periods since she has been in our rescue and finally treated with care and love.
Summer is great with kids and loves to play with toys. It takes her a few days to befriend a new rescue dog.
Summer loves being around humans and needs to be adopted by someone who is home a lot. She needs house/leash training. She is 50% trained to a puppy pad when inside. She could be available by the end of August!!!
At wags to riches, we pride ourselves on having the lowest prices of any rescue while doing the most for our dogs. Being a very small organization, we are a 2-woman show, have no overhead, and work hard to give our dogs the most loving home possible. Because we are so small with limited volunteers, we have to use an external transport company (if you don't want to drive to Alabama to get your dog( to transport the dog to Maryland/PA/VA area. He charges $150 per dog. This cost would be in addition to the adoption fee.
