Here's what the humans have to say about me:
PLEASE READ THROUGH BIO BEFORE INQUIRING-ALL REQUIREMENTS MUST BE MET IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED
Meet Lila, one of the most beautiful dogs you will ever meet! Lila is a purebred, AKC, red miniature poodle that is 7 years old and 11lbs of pure cuteness! Lila was relinquished to us due to a behavioral issue and her owners were heartbroken to make this decision, but with a new baby on the way, they wanted to do the right thing, as hard as it was, to relinquish her to a rescue that could place her in the proper and most fitting home. Lila is a very sweet, loving, and loyal dog. If you are not feeling well, she will sit right by you and comfort you for as long as you need. She is active and loves to play fetch with balls and stuffed animals. She also loves walks in peaceful neighborhoods as busy streets with loud noise/traffic can scare her. Lila MUST have an adult only home that is dog savvy, patient, and loving and will work with her daily on her issues and even possibly get her in home training. She CANNOT be sent away to a trainer. She also has some anxiety so she needs owners that are home most of the day, work from home or are "early" retired. Lila can get territorial over small objects such as toys and socks. She will warn you when she has something and may threaten to bite if you attempt to get the item. This is a challenge so we MUST have an owner that is willing to work with her on this and not give her back and the first sign of an issue. She is highly intelligent and can learn commands quickly, but you must be consistent. She needs a pack leader who will direct her into being the best dog she can!
Lila is in good health, but has some ongoing medications, so owner must be aware of this and willing to continue them. We can go over with any potential inquiries that contact us.
Lila has been with her original family since she was 3 months old and has had the best care and love, however, with a new baby on the way, the resource guarding she displays can be a big problem. The owners want to do what's best for not only their family, but most importantly for sweet Lila.
We will be going through inquiries and applications very thoroughly and carefully as she needs a very specific home.
If you meet these requirements, you may contact us at: Gina@thefogottendog.org or 310-990-2020
We ONLY adopt in Los Angeles and surrounding areas as an in person meet/greet, home check, and trial period are required.
