My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Teddy`s Compatibility:
Dogs - Meet & Greet
Cats - Prefers a feline-free home
Kids - Yes, 12+

Teddy is a loving, playful pup looking for his forever home. He’s happiest when he’s with his people—whether that’s cuddling on the couch or lying at your feet while you work. Teddy loves head scratches, belly rubs, and toys—especially stuffed ones! He gets so much joy from pulling out the squeaker and making a fun mess.

Teddy loves to play tug-of-war and get the zoomies in the yard. He enjoys short walks around the neighborhood but prefers to set his own pace. Loud noises or sudden movements can spook him, so a calm, patient owner is ideal. At night, he needs a little extra help going outside since he’s scared of the dark.

Teddy is crate-trained and does well when left alone, though he loves being close to his humans when they’re home. He’s also happy to sleep in bed with you—he’s a quiet, still sleeper. Teddy would do best in a home without young children, as sudden movements can make him nervous.

Teddy knows basic commands like sit, down, and shake, and he’s very motivated by treats. He’s working on not jumping and hasn’t had any issues with guarding toys or food, though it’s best not to take a toy from him while he’s chewing.

Teddy is open to meeting potential canine siblings, so feel free to bring your resident dogs by for a meet and greet. Teddy’s got so much love to offer—come meet him today and see if he’s the perfect match for your home!

More about this shelter

With an open admission policy, a No-Kill philosophy, and more than 3,100 animals crossing our threshold each year, we have still maintained a 98% placement rate over the last 3 years.

This is an amazing feat for any organization…let alone one that takes in some of the most abused, injured and seriously ill animals imaginable.
