MacLaine and her brother Newman were living in a storm drain with their mother in a busy uptown area. For their safety, the family was trapped and brought to the City Pound. The kittens were fearful but over time MacLaine has learned to accept pats on the head; she becomes more affectionate as time goes on. She does not like being picked up and has a high "flight" response. She wants to relax and be friendly but still doesn't trust people. She gains confidence from watching her brother get held and played with. We feel that a home with older children would be best as loud noises and quick movements scare her. MacLaine and Newman do NOT like dogs and react very aggressively so their new home must not have any dogs. She is playful but more independent than her brother. Her new people can work on trust by feeding her favorite soft treats. She is quite fond of her cage mate/sibling so it is our hope to adopt them out together.
To meet this awesome duo, request an adoption application at mdowney@iowatelecom.net. Once the application is accepted, an appointment will be made to view the cats.
