Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Currently located in: Tennessee, heading north by 8/25/23.
Adoptable in: All continental 48 United States (transport is available anywhere!)
Good with dogs: Yes! As always, slow introductions are needed. He is a big ball of play and needs decompression. He'll fit in fantastic with any pack so long as someone wants to play with him. We actually are mainly going to consider homes with another dog for him to play with!
Good with cats: TBD - being tested on Tuesday! Should be fine based on character.
Good with kids: Yes, as always adult supervision is always required when kids are present! His previous mini human was handicapable and he knows how to be very gentle.
House trained: YES! but we save room for adjustments to your routine!
Crate trained: Yes! He goes in for a treat and hearing "Load up" and a second treat as a reward. When you get home he will whine till you let him out! He doesn't shred his beds or blankies!
Please Note: We are quick (usually 3-5 days to be fully approved!) to respond to applications and complete the adoption approval process. Please only apply if you are ready to take home your new pet quickly.
Meet Quest!
Your journey (or should we say QUEST - pun INTENDED) for your new family is over! Quest is an approximately 16 month old Catahoula/Aussie mix with short to medium hare and a beautiful Merle coat. We aren't 100 percent sure - but that is our vets best guess. He is fully grown at 48 pounds! He is a very happy, playful, cute, medium sized pup who also loves cuddling and getting belly rubs! He will want to play with a dog friend and that would be our preference on a home. He plays very well but is working on social ques of "this dog doesn't want to play anymore!" He catches on super quick. A goofball in every sense of the word. He knows sit, leave it, and load up. Obedience classes are always recommended to make sure everyone is communicating effectively, but he's "just about the best boy ever" - or so his foster mom says!
He found himself being dropped off at a very high kill shelter in GA. Thankfully the Whiskers Fund was there picking up A DIFFERENT DOG - and we said not today! He got to skip the dangers of the shelter and his old humans got to know he would be found an amazing home, no matter what. That being said - she's very clearly known love. They were unfortunately just not able to provide him with forever due to incredibly tough circumstances. Therefore, we won't stop till we find him the perfect forever home!
Quest is young and has a lot of energy so he would love a family who will give him lots of play time outside (He loves chasing the ball, and playing chase with his doggie friends) and take him on walks and adventures/hikes. His foster mom has been training for a race so he gets to go on a 45 minute run every morning and LOVES it. He doesn't pull and loose leash walks to your speed. He knows the sit command, is good in the car, does well on the leash, and loves fetching the ball (just doesn't always want to give it back!) He gets along well with other dogs but does need slow introductions. ALL DOGS DO. His tail wags faster than anything you have ever seen because he is just so happy!
When he is out of his crate, he really doesn’t make much noise and he will just listen if the other dogs are barking at someone walking by or something outside. He's also a very polite eater, but while decompressing has been eating in his crate.
Quest is great with all people and kids. He does get the zoomies so parental supervision with the littles is the best bet. That being said - he also has "chill mode" and will just cuddle at your feet while you work, or next to you while netflix and chilling! Quest takes treats gently, but every now and then needs a reminder with the “easy” command as he can get excited. Quest when not playing, just wants to always be with you, whether you are headed out on an adventure or staying home and cuddling up on the couch or in bed - so if you’re not into dogs on the fur-niture, he IS NOT the dog for you.
If you think you are the right match and your search is over, but your "Quest" is just beginning, please apple here....
All of our animals are fully vetted before going to their furever homes. They are spayed/neutered, current on vaccines, dewormed, up to date on flea/tick prevention, heartworm prevention, and microchipped!
Please Note: All animals are posted until they are officially adopted. This animal may have other interested adopters in line.
We are very quick to respond and process applications! You will be required to provide 2 non family personal references, a home video tour and a vet reference if you’ve previously had animals. Please feel free to send video to our email or facebook upon submitting an application, this lets us know you are serious and ready but also helps us to get you approved quickly. We will text and or call upon receiving your application to schedule a phone interview.
You must be an approved adopter in order to go on meet and greets. This saves everyone’s time- especially our gracious foster families! This also allows for you to take the animals home from the meet and greet if you so choose.
Interested in fostering? We would love to have you join our family! Fill out the same application above- we have our fosters go through the same process as adopters!
