My story

(Sigh)Am I ever going to be adopted?

I was born in November 2001, ran my first race in May 2003 and my last race in May 2004. I spent the next year in the track adoption kennel watching the other dogs, the brindles, fawns, and spotted white dogs around me get adopted. Black dogs, I’m told, are not much in demand. So I waited…..

In June of 2005 I finally got out of the adoption kennel in Florida and came to Michigan. I’ve been with my foster family ever since. I really love my foster Mom and all but what I really want is a family and home to love forever.

I was never really a great racer. I only won three out of the forty-eight races I ran but if speed isn’t important to you I will more than make up for that shortcoming with love and loyalty. My foster Mom says that I am a sweet, snuggly, cuddly dog and very affectionate. I get along with cats, other dogs and children. I have everything you would want in a dog but color. WHAT’S WITH THAT???? I love everybody, cats, kids, and other dogs, big and small. I don’t care what color they are. I hope I can find a human who feels the same.

I just turned four on November 8th and I’m ready to settle down with someone who will look beyond my so-called scary color and give me the opportunity to show them what greyhound love is all about. Still waiting………
