Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Beau, a sweet 2 year old, 7 pound Yorkie boy being fostered in Cedar Park, TX. Only Texas applicants will be considered.
Beau is a sweet and loving 2 year old boy with a fine physique weighing in at 7.88 pounds. He recently arrived to UYR as a foster in Cedar Park, TX with a nasty infection in both eyes. He is currently being treated with eye drops and meds and the treatment seems to be working well but a complete recovery may take a little patience. His foster mom and everyone at UYR is looking forward to arresting the infection and then beginning the re-growth of the (all important) hairs around his bright eyes (that were matted into the infection).
Beau is housebroken and enjoys walking on a leash. Sometimes, he will patiently lay at the back door to tell you he would like to go outside. He prefers being inside (probably due to the current heatwave) but he likes to go outside in the fenced back yard and when he has taken care of business and sufficiently sniffed around, he will lay on the back porch to let you know hes ready to go inside. He prefers dry
kibble and keeps himself well hydrated. He gets a daily meal/treat of chicken breast, shredded cheese and hummus or pumpkin puree and squeaks with joy the whole time that youre putting it together in the bowl.
He wants to be wherever you are and will follow you around the house, lying at your feet in the office, at your side on the couch and on the doggy bed in the kitchen area while you do your chores. Hes great company! He will cuddle with you but he doesnt assume that your lap or arms are his space; he waits to be invited (and he gets plenty of invites!). He doesnt miss a chance to get a belly rub and will readily assume the position given an opportunity - just to let you know that hes available. He enjoys being groomed with a brush or a comb while he watches TV with you, and hes perfectly content to lie at your side for as many TV shows as you would like to watch together. He wants to be touched and petted (and loves to hear you sweet talk him) and will lay on his back for an hour just soaking up a belly rub.
Being a gentleman of few words, he rarely barks. His foster mom sometimes calls him Motor Boat because whenever anyone talks to him, his tail wags like a motor boat he's a happy dog and it shows! He makes human friends easily and likes males and females, alike. So far, he hasn't taken interest in toys or balls but this may be due to his efforts to focus on getting his eyes to feel better.
