Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hello, my name is Pierce. I am a neutered, about 2 years old, 48-pound, black lab mix. I am much smaller than the average Lab mix, in fact some say I look like a miniature Lab. I am super sweet, very gentle, and love to give lots of affection. The people I lived with before did not treat me like the nice people at SCLRR but I am learning how to trust people. I'm still a little skittish and will go to my safe place in the bedroom but I come right back if you call me, so I ask that my new family be a little patient while I get to know them. I promise I will warm up. Even though I am young, I really do not have a high energy level like most Labs my age. I really enjoy routine. I'm crate trained and sleep through the night though I like to get a treat before I go in the crate. I'm very excited to start my day and like to go outside to do an occasional zoomie and then I settle right down and am ready for breakfast. I love food. My foster parents take me for walks and I'm learning how to properly walk on a leash. I don't chase balls. I have started to play with my foster brother's toys and it's really fun. I have been learning how to be a proper pup. My foster dad thinks I lived outside all the time before coming to SCLRR so I am learning about being inside the house. I learned how to use the doggie door. I love being inside but will sometimes go out and lay in the sun. I get along with my foster brother almost all the time, but sometimes I quietly growl at him if I am not in the mood to be bothered. I would be fine with a brother or sister or an only dog. I would be good with a family with children or an older person. I really want to find a forever family that will be patient with me. One who will expose me to new things and show me I am safe. I have already learned a lot in my foster home! I know I can continue to learn to bond and love everyone.
