My basic info
Here's what the humans have to say about me:
*Please read FULL description before inquiring.*
Barbie is a rambunctious little hamster who is full of energy! We do not know her age or anything about her past. She does not bite when picked up, but will squirm around when held. Her car is included in her adoption, and her habitat with accessories pictured is available for $50.
As with all small animals, proper care for hamsters is unfortunately generally not well known. While they are quite easy to care for, their small size makes them fragile for clumsy little hands that may drop or squeeze them, and they are very difficult to find if they escape their habitat. Therefore, they are not a good choice for a child's pet, except with constant adult supervision and help. Many of the animals that come to us with "behavioral issues" are very sweet and calm once they are in a proper habitat/environment. The larger the habitat, the happier the mouse, and larger habitats don't need to be cleaned as often. For more information on hamster care, please review our mouse care guide: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ajRfdvm-gbj9hdbNu7KE8EbRJzHvAuX__Gd0WY6-500/edit?usp=sharing
If you're interested in adopting, please submit an adoption application at www.hhsar.org/adopt. The adoption fee is $18, which does not include a habitat, cage, or any supplies. We regularly have used habitats, cages and supplies available for a donation fee. Please contact us for more information. We are a foster-based rescue and do not have a shelter location where our animals can be visited. We can arrange a visit if you're interested in adopting, but we require an adoption application to be submitted before.
