Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Louie is located in TEXAS and is available for adoption and transport to another state. There are not enough homes for all the unwanted dogs down here, so he is willing to relocate for a good, loving, forever home.
Louie had a perennial hernia, which is a hernia of the rectum near his anus, and underwent a $5K surgery to repair the problem. Bowel movements can be difficult. Louie can only eat soft food mixed with psyllium fiber which makes it easier for him to have a BM. If he gets clogged up, he will need lactulose (a laxative) to move things along. His new adopter must be observant and pay attention to his BM's. If ignored, an obstruction could result in another hernia. He needs to go out frequently and he must have a fenced yard so he can run around to "work things" through his system.
Louie was dumped out on a road in the country. We are fairly certain he is a pure breed American Eskimo Dog. He weighs around 20 pounds and we estimate he is around 2 years of age. Louie is a sweet, happy-go-lucky dog. The finder says he is good with children and cats. He can be mean to other non-neutered, or recently neutered males - but this should stop with time as his testosterone subsides. Louie is crate-trained and well-behaved in the house. But may need work with house training. He rides well in the vehicle, walks well on a leash, and comes when called. He loves water and sitting in the wading pool to cool off. He does like treats. Louie must be in the house as a loved member of the family. He must be walked on a leash and must have a fenced yard to run and play. Louie is neutered, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. Louie was treated for a light case of heartworms and they are now dead. He receives monthly heartworm and flea prevention.
We want Louie to have a fabulous forever home. His out-of-state adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport, and he can be transported almost anywhere within the continental United States. He is being fostered in Texas and cannot be transported until after he is adopted. Please send an email to 2manydogstx@gmail.com if you are interested in adopting this sweet boy.
