My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Amari was born on Valentine’s Day (of this year) and—consistent with her birthdate--she truly is a sweetheart!
Her daddy was a Chihuahua and her mom was a Rat Terrier/ShihTzu mix, so she is the perfect “designer dog”!

Amari has been immunized, microchipped, and de-wormed and she will mature about 15 lbs.
She is making progress on her housebreaking, but she is still a puppy so her adopter would need to be home enough to continue her training, taking her out on a regular basis.
(Someone who works out of his/her home, works part time, or is retired would be the best fit.)

Amari needs a safely fenced yard (no invisible fencing) and she would do well with another dog to play with and/or learn from. (The video shown includes her brother Audie, who is also available for adoption.)

Amari is a quick learner, she loves to play, and she sleeps with the cat!
She loves cuddles but--because she should be handled gently--we prefer that she not be adopted by a family with young children who might inadvertently hurt her.
Like all puppies, Amari can be anxious and excitable, but with time and training she will, of course, become more mellow. She really IS a sweet dog, and she deserves the perfect home!

Amari’s adoption fee is $500.
(Her adoption contract requires her to be spayed at 6 months of age and—once this is done by the adopter—$100 of the adoption fee will be refunded.)

NOTE: If you feel you would be a good match for Amari, please contact Kim (Amari’s foster mom) at: KFischer2011@yahoo.com and tell her about your living situation and why you think you and Amari would be a good fit for each other.
Then—if Kim agrees you would be a good match—she will e-mail you an adoption application.
Once this application is completed and returned, a meet-and-greet (and pre-adoption home visit) can be scheduled.
