Double Adoption with Piper, #SPC314. 14 year old Pearl and her 8 year old daughter Piper met a huge obstacle when they lost their home. With their trusted friends at Animal League America by their side, these tentative ladies have taken comfort in the quiet room they share in Bianca’s Furry Friends Feline Adoption Center. While you may find Piper greeting you by the door, Pearl likes you to settle in so she can occupy your lap. Thanks to our generous donors, Piper and Pearl’s hyperthyroidism has been treated with radiation therapy, eradicating their need for medication! These lovely ladies are receiving a special diet to treat Pearl’s early chronic renal disease, a covered medical condition through our Pet Health Centers. How lucky for them to have this pit stop with Animal League America before moving on to a quiet, experienced adult home where they can blissfully soak in the sun under the care of a loving family.

When you come down to NSALA an associate will help you figure out what kind of animal will do best in your situation. At that point they will take out the animals you are interested in so that you may get to know them. You will have plenty of time to play and interact with your new friend in our family friendly areas designated for that purpose. When you decide you want to adopt, an associate will help you fill out an application.

Our adoption fees are as follows:
Puppies (up to 6 months) $350
Adult Dogs (over 6 months) $100
Puppy Mill Rescues $250
Small Breed & Pure Breeds (over 6 months) $250
Kittens (up to 6 months) $100
Double Kittens $150
Adult Cats (over 6 months) $50
Double Adult Cats $75

Where applicable, a $50 Spay/Neuter deposit is required for kittens, $75 for puppies.

Our Adoption Center, is open every Thursday-Sunday 12pm-8pm. On average, our shelter is home to 350 dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens. Behind the scenes, the Adoption Center contains a nursery area, medical examination room and a grooming area where new admissions are health checked, vaccinated, bathed and groomed.

Visitors are reminded that adoption is a lifelong commitment. After selecting a pet, each potential adopter is thoroughly screened, ensuring each adopter recognizes the life-changing commitment a new pet can be. To date, over 1,000,000 pet owners have met our high standards and adopted a pet from North Shore Animal League America.
