Here's what the humans have to say about me:
We are looking for fosters or foster-to-adopt for one or both of these big beautiful boys...Maxx and Blue. They came from a difficult situation and are both high heartworm positive. Their owners are currently homeless and do not have a safe place to keep them. They are both very sweet boys who deserve a second chance to live the life they deserve. All medical costs will be covered by AC ARF, as well as for neutering both once they are cleared for surgery.
Many thanks to our partnership with Humane Society, Tennessee Valley and to Norris Animal Hospital, where they are currently being boarded until we find foster homes for them to continue their healing journey. They wouldn’t be alive today if not for them.
So besides being homeless, these special needs dogs need to live in a home environment for their heart worm treatment, which will take 6 months. Fortunately, no injections are required in their treatment protocol, so all can be done painlessly at home. Most dogs enjoy eating their chewy heartworm treatment/preventative as the medication is incorporated into a very tasty treat. And this dynamic duo will each be bolting down two of these treats every month!
That’s where they need your help. They each need to be living in a home. They can be separated and go to different homes, so they do not need to be fostered/adopted together. All expenses will be covered, and any supplies needed will be provided.
They are both adult dogs. 4 year old Maxx (first picture) is the largest, and weighing 75-80 pounds, there is plenty to love in this big brown boxer/shepherd mix. 6 year old Blue, is also as sweet as cotton candy and with plenty of energy, and weighing 60 pounds, is a tan/white Bulldog/pit terrier mix. They are sweet love bugs and good with children. They just want to be loved. Don’t we all deserve that?
If you’d like more information about these dogs, or partner with us as a foster to ensure these dogs have a healthy future, please message Anderson County Animal Rescue Foundation or call Katrina at 865-414-2491.
