Odin (Odie) was rescued from a high-kill shelter in Texas. He arrived to his foster home mid-April, and is adjusting well!
Odin requires slow and controlled introductions to other dogs, but loves to romp and play once he is comfortable. Though, he would likely be okay as an only dog as well. He is co-existing with his feline 'friends' in his current foster home, but Odin does have a decently high prey drive, so it would be best that he permanently reside in a kitty-free home. Compatibility with small dogs or any livestock/poultry is unknown.
Odin is eager to please his people and corrects extremely well. He is a BIG goofy boy and may be best with older or well mannered/dog savvy children.
Housebroken, crate trained, and working on some basic commends. Walks well on lead but does require a strong leader if correction is needed. He also is a great car buddy, who often accompanies his foster dad on his daily work rounds. Odin is a great blend of couch potato and adventure buddy! The most important thing to him is just being with his people.
He is heartworm positive, but will be treated at SSR's expense until he tests negative, even after he's been adopted.
