Hello, my name is Gotti. I'm a 9-year-old senior pit bull with a heart full of love and a few scars from my past. Life hasn't always been kind to me, but I believe there's still hope for a brighter future.
Before I found myself here at the shelter, I lived through some tough times. The details are a bit hazy, and honestly, I try not to dwell on them too much. What matters now is finding a safe, loving place to spend the rest of my days.
I've been at the shelter for over a year now. It's a place where I've learned to feel safe again, but it's not the same as having a real home. Every day, I watch as people come and go, adopting younger, more energetic dogs. They see me, but I think my nervousness and age make them overlook me. I can’t blame them; I'm not as spry as I used to be. My legs move a bit slower, and my playtime is a bit more laid-back compared to the younger pups around here.
Because of my past, I sometimes get scared around other dogs. I worry they might want to hurt me, and I react in ways that make people think I’m not friendly. But the truth is, I just need someone patient, someone who understands that I'm doing my best to overcome my fears.
Despite everything, I have so much love to give. I adore treats and scratches – they’re the highlights of my day. When someone takes the time to scratch behind my ears or give me a tasty treat, I feel a glimmer of hope and happiness.
I dream of a quiet home where I can lay in the sun, feeling the warmth on my fur, and knowing that I am finally safe. I promise to be loyal and loving to the person who opens their heart to me. I may be older, but I still have so much to offer.
Please, if you’re reading this, consider giving me a chance. Let me show you that even a senior dog like me can bring joy, love, and companionship into your life. I just need one person to see past my age and my fears, and to see the handsome, loving boy that I am.
