My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dutchess, is a 1.5 yr old stray female hound mix who was found running thru a busy intersection with no collar or chip. She’s a little shy, but very friendly & responsive to training. She was found underweight but she’s a very good eater and already on her way to a healthier weight. She tested positive for heart worms, but her foster family is getting her treatment started (treatment may need to be continued once adopted by the right home) they also already got all of her shots and spay taken care of, now all she needs is a home with someone who will give her the temporary medical attention she needs plus love and attention for life. Lots of affection and treats are a must!

Additional adoption info

Everyone that adopts must first fill out an application and get approved by our adoption team. We allow people to meet our animals to make sure it is the right fit along with letting their animals meet our animals as well as long as that animal meets the vetting criteria.

More about this rescue

We are a non-profit and no-kill shelter in Rutherford North Carolina. We pull animals from animal control and take in animals from the community. We make sure everyone is healthy, up to date on vaccinations, spayed or neutered, microchipped, dewormed, and put on something for fleas, ticks and heartworm prevention. We then place them up for adoption making sure they go into great homes.
