Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Harlow is a Domestic Short Hair (DSH)-mix, female, DOB: 3/18/23
Harlow may come in a small package for now, but don't let that fact fool you, she has an engaging, larger-than-life personality and so much love she is brimming with enthusiasm to share. Confident and completely comfortable in her own skin, she’ll be looking for lots of interaction and playtime whether it be from people or other felines or a combination of both for this engaging and highly social feline.
Upon her rescue, we noticed she had a few unique features, though none of them seem to impede her in any way whatsoever - she runs and jumps with her siblings with gusto. Her left paw is "clubbed", meaning that her toes didn't develop correctly and have shaped the bottom of her foot as you can see in the photo. She also has toes that didn't grow in the typical way and her right eye is a slightly different shape than the left.
Harlow, along with littermates, Oatmeal and Harlow: came to Monroe SPCA as orphans needing critical care - all 3 kittens found stuck up a tree. Fortunately Monroe SPCA volunteers were able to retrieve them before they were injured. The three kitten siblings spent their first months with Monroe SPCA in medical foster being treated for fleas, URIs, Giardia, Coccidia, and Roundworm.
Now a happy, healthy feline, Harlow is looking for her forever home with a family who can give her the time and attention a young cat needs and be able to accommodate her special needs. Although Harlow can be adopted individually, we recommend a pairing with several of our other young cats having compatible personalities and temperament.
Harlow is best suited as an indoor pet and companion for a home with a calm, low-active to moderately active lifestyle and no active young children under the age of six (6). She is comfortable with other compatible cats and kittens, and she’ll be comfortable in the presence of well-mannered, cat-friendly dogs after being given some adjustment time to warm-up and settle into his new surroundings. As with all Monroe SPCA adoptable animals, a home visit and a meet-n-greet with any housemate pets will be required prior to adoption.
Harlow currently resides at Monroe SPCA’s Adoption Center and Retail Store. You can meet her by appointment with pre-approved adoption application. To start the adoption process, complete and submit Monroe SPCA’s adoption application linked above.
All Monroe SPCA cats available for adoption have an adoption fee of $85.00. This fee includes the cat being spayed or neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, dewormed, tested for FeLV and FIV, and microchipped with lifelong registration prior to adoption.
Completed applications can be emailed to info@monroespca.org or dropped off at Monroe SPCA’s Adoption Center and Retail Store located at 293 W. Monroe Street, Dundee, MI.
