This beautiful, dainty girl is a survivor. She and her brother Clyde have been on their own for far too long, running stray on the rural highways of northwestern Ohio for several months, growing increasingly emaciated, and too scared to allow anyone to bring them to safety. They both had to be humanely trapped and have found a loving, safe foster home with the kind folks who worked so hard to get them safe.
Bonnie and her brother Clyde are doing so well now—they’ve slowly and steadily gained weight, are eating without the desperate voraciousness we first observed, are now up to date on vaccines, negative for heartworm and tick-borne illness, and on monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventive. Both also have been fixed and microchipped.
They are awesome dogs, good-natured and gentle, who have gotten along well with other dogs, cats, horses, and strangers. They both still are easily frightened by any new stimuli in their environment—loud noises, for example--but are getting better every day. They love attention and long walks.
In a perfect world, Bonnie and Clyde would find a home together. If that's not possible, another dog in the home is desired. A physically fenced yard is preferred.
Bonnie is available for adoption in Ohio to residents of Ohio. If you are interested in adopting Bonnie or Bonnie & Clyde together, please complete the online application here (copy and paste into your browser):
